Many people start a business while working their full-time job until they feel confident enough to leave. This allows them to continue to pay their bills while building up their business.
Eventually, the goal is to be able to quit your job so that you can focus on your business. Here are some more tips to figure out when you should leave your job.
- You are losing sleep. If you are logging in forty hours in your regular job and just as much in your business so that you are not getting any sleep, it might be time to think about quitting your full-time job. If your business is not ready to support you, maybe you can think about cutting back to part-time so you can get enough sleep at night. Going too many days without sleep is bad for your health.
- You dread going to work every morning. If you wake up each morning wound up about going to work, you are going to have to make some changes. Either you can take a leap of faith and spend more time on your business or you can find something else to help pay your bills until your business takes off.
- Your health is failing because you are too stressed. Trying to work from home and work outside the home, while still caring for your family and home can really take a toll on someone. If you are starting to get sick regularly or you are gaining weight due to stress, it might be time to reprioritize your life.
Running a business is hard. If you still have a part or full-time job, that makes it even harder. Unfortunately, not everyone is able to quit until their business is becoming profitable. However, there are times when you may have to quit. If you wake up with a feeling of dread about your day and everything that you have to do, it is time to think about making some changes.
